working with patterns
we learned a little bit about patterns during the Summer. Right now, she is working on it in Kindergarten. Well, sometimes they can get a big tricky. So, we practiced and had fun in the process. How to:
* We had some shapes and made lots of copy to color...
We tried to make it difficult each time. She enjoyed it because she could figure out the answer. Later, Salma even made some patterns for her Daddy to solve.

We used the 'ABC' method... that means each shape/color is given a letter and then make up your pattern... let's say circle-circle-square will be AAB and so on...

this weekend...
:: They each got a haircut.
:: They went to the library to return books and borrow some more.
:: They did some 'homework' and play together.
:: They ate ceviche (mostly Salma).
:: They played a bit outside since the weather was nice.
:: They watched "Alvin and The Chipmunks II" (for the 20th time.)
:: They played a Math game with Daddy, but it was no fun since Daddy does not let them win.
:: They ran some errands with Mommy.

these days
these days we are spending our days reading, doing homework and extras, creating class projects, going to kids' workshops, getting ready for fall-winter, and recently... knitting and crocheting.
abuelita Z made this hat for baby K. It looks good on her (everything looks good on this baby)
the weather is changing. no more hot sunny days to go out and play. these are the days to stay warm, grab a sweater and in the evening have some tea/coffe with cookies or Mexican bread.

our day in pictures
as the first Saturday of every month...we went to Home Depot's kids workshop.
...always fun with the hammer...
first time at HD for our little one...
"I see you Mamma"...
here she is modeling her new apron.
next, we went to a farm for:
::: petting a horse ... nope ... too scary to touch
::: face painting ... nope ... too messy
::: build your own scarecrow ... nope ... got already scared with the one in display
::: say hi to Elmo ... nope ... did not know Elmo was that big that baby K did know like him that much
well hopefully next time we will have better luck.
last stop, the park to collect leaves for a class project.
there they go to find more leaves.
it does not matter if they are all day having fun and going to places. it is never enough. they never want to go back home.
